Suzhou Rail Transit (SRT) Line 8 started operation at 10 a.m. on Sept. 10 as scheduled. After the opening of SRT Line 8, Suzhou has 8 rail transit lines in operation with 256 stations and a total mileage of 251 kilometers.
SRT Line 8, together with Line 3, forms a ring in Suzhou’s rail transit network, which connects to the parallel SRT lines which run north to south or west to east. On this ring, there are 14 transfer stations to SRT Lines 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6 in operation, as well as SRT Line 7 under construction and SRT Line 10 which is planned.
An integrity culture-themed train was launched on SRT Line 8 on the same day by Suzhou Rail Transit Group and the Municipal Commissions for Discipline Inspection and Supervision. With olive green as the main color, the carriages are adorned with picture posters, photographs, etc., aiming to help cultivate social morality, work ethics, family values, and personal integrity.
