The 2024 list of China’s top 500 enterprises was jointly released by the China Enterprise Confederation and the China Entrepreneurs Association on Sept. 11. There are seven enterprises in Suzhou making the list, namely Hengli Group, Shenghong Holding Group, Shagang Group, GCL Group, Hengtong Group, Jiangsu Guotai Group and Tongding Group. Four of them are based in Wujiang District, two in Zhangjiagang City and one in Suzhou Industrial Park.
This is the 23rd time that the list of China’s top 500 enterprises has been released to the public. The threshold for this year’s list is 47.381 billion yuan, 383 million yuan higher than that of last year, having increased for 22 consecutive years. This year, the operating income of China’s top 500 enterprises has exceeded the 110-trillion-yuan threshold, reaching 110.07 trillion yuan, an increase of 1.58% compared with the previous year.
Among the 4 enterprises in Wujiang District, Hengli Group came in 25th with a turnover of 811,736.89 million yuan, 11 places up from last year. It is an international enterprise that focuses on the full production chain in oil refining, petrochemical, polyester new materials and textiles. It has built 9 production bases nationwide.
Shenghong Holding Group ranked 48th with a revenue of 528,824.91 million yuan, up 18 places from last year. It is an international high-tech industrial group with integrated development of the whole industrial chain of petrochemical refining, new energy, new materials and high-end textiles. In recent years, Shenghong has made great efforts to steadily promote the “1+N” new energy and new materials business layout.
Hengtong Group ranked 156th with a revenue of 174,019.14 million yuan, up 15 places from last year. It is an international enterprise with a diverse range of expertise covering optical fiber, power, marine and offshore cable, EPC turnkey service and maintenance, as well as IoT, big data and e-commerce, emerging materials and new energy.
Tongding Group moved up 44 spots to 402th with a revenue of 60,155.93 million yuan. The company is mainly engaged in the production and sales of optical and electric cables.
